Thursday 24th jan
Thursday 24th jan
Today i left Alfie to decide on the music while i was editing the green screen and other editing that needs to be done. I also have to make the titles and add them to the sequence. I had some troubles making the titles where as we had an effect on them which made the shake and it was hard to maintain the same shake throughout the whole of titles. Then i found out that you could copy the titles then past them and just change the text.

Green Screen editing
This the green screen editing that im doing for the news scene. I've had some difficulties with this as when Alfie walks on to the white coat his wearing doesn't work with the background as some of the green background is reflecting of the coat. i had to cut up the scenes because it works more in some areas than it does in others.
Green screen background
These are the backgrounds i chose for the green screen. Ones for a news effect and the other is for a live broadcast.

Changed name
At first we decided to name our film civil dead. We decided this because the film was about a zombie civilization and where they are zombies they're dead. We liked this name as we thought it had a nice sound to it and sound spooky. Like what horror films are normally like.
We changed our name to Civilized instead because in the end we didn't like the sound of Civil dead because it wasn't that creative and were going to publish the name with the 'z' a capital so it would be like CiviliZed.

Mindmap Civildead/ Civilized
This is a mind map off the ideas for our title sequence and what we was going to do. These the ideas that we had at first. At first we was going to film people dressed up as zombies living a normal life. As our film is about a zombie civilization. We changed our idea on this because it would be hard to film it and the money to buy the make-up to make the people look like zombies.
Audience profile
This the the audience profile we made and we decided that the audience that would like our film would like zombie game and spooky places like London tombs and London dungeons. The target gender for our film is male, as our film is a very brutal bloody film. Also as the film is simulacra to these game that are also targeted to the male gender that they would enjoy this film as well.
We said that the age range for this film is 15-28 as we thought it was be teenagers/young men who would enjoy this film.
Production companies
This is the production companies that our group decided to pick as they made films such as zombie land. Where as this film is similar to the film that were doing. The films that inspired our film are films like 'Dog house' and 'Shaun of the dead'. As these are similar to our film.

Newspaper props
These are the newspaper props that i'm going to be using in my title sequence. I decided that these newspapers are going to spin onto the page so that the audience that is watching this title sequence can see whats happen previously in the film. So that they understand whats happening.

Week 14-18th Jan
On Monday
We went over exam key words in the first lesson. For the second half of the lesson we carried on working on our title sequence. But we was putting our work onto Fex computer and it got lost sadly but were going to be starting it again on my user.
On Tuesday
On Tuesday we put our titles into the sequence again as we lost our work before and made sure the editing was done as well. Today we decided to split the group up as the communication skills weren't working between us and it was better than Fex went on to do editing on her own and Me and Alfie done the editing by ourselves.
On Thursday
Today we recorded most of the shots so all that's left is the tea making recording which im going to be doing at my house. I put everything in to final cut pro now I've just got to edit it all.
On Friday
Friday Me and Alfie have a free double lesson so were going to hopefully get the rest of our recording done. So that most of the title sequence is done and we just need do finish the editing and the first scene.

Saul Bass.
Saul Bass
Saul Bass lived in America and was famous for graphic design
and the film posters he made. He was also best known for the title sequences he
made. Which were motion pictures. Saul Bass used lots of simple shapes in his
title sequences, which creates meaning to the film. Saul Bass was a student at Art Students
League. He then got a apprenticeship with Manhattan design firms. Then after
this he worked as a freelance graphic designer. With the images and shapes Saul
Bass used on his title sequences he captured the mood of the film. Saul Bass
hand drew the shapes. Which gives it a good effect and a normal appearance.
Saul Bass worked with a lot of star directors such as Martin
Scorsese, Stanley Kurbrick and Alfred Hitchcock.

Making the titles
These are print screens of the making of the typography of our title sequence. The top ones are of making the studio title and the other one at the bottom is one of the cast members. We decided to use the ‘cold night for alligators’ font and colored it red to indicate danger also the horror genre to the film. The film is about zombies to we did the font also because it hand prints on it so it can link to the film.
This the the font I've picked for the title sequence, which is called cold night for alligators.
Civilized title sequence
This is the title of our
sequence; we’ve made the background look like a lost signalled television. This
is because in our title sequence a girl is doing a video and I’ve made it look
like its broke because you hear zombies in the back ground and then
its made to think that they attack her which you don’t see because were the
video shuts off. We also changed our title of our film as we thought that
civilized look much better than what civil dead did.

Diary of week monday 7th
Monday- On Monday we just got the titles done and other little
things that need to be improving. For our title which is 'civilized' and we've
chose the font ‘cold night for alligators’. Which the names of the actors
are in but the directors
Tuesday
– On Tuesday Fex carried on with the other titles, while me and Alfie were
trying to get the title of the film done so that we could add it to the video
after.
Thursday-
Today we Started to edit the typography and put it on to our title
sequence. Fex and Me chose to make our typography shaky so we used a editing
technique that was called bad film. Me, Alfie and Fex decided to
change our title sequence and to cut out bits out of the title sequence. We had
an interview in our title sequence but we cut it out and change it because we
didn’t like the idea no more.
